Ch. 21
SaintsTAEHYUNG POV
I walked into the building where Nari worked, she had forgotten the lunch that Jaesuk had made for her this morning since she said she wasn't feeling too well.
As I walked past the women in the office, I heard some of their whispers, wondering "who the handsome guy that showed up unannounced was." Or "who was the handsome guy here to see?"
Nari was sitting at her desk, eyes focused on the screen in front of her, her fingers quickly typing away, once she noticed me walking up, a soft smile spread across her face, before she had a chance to speak, a man walked out of the office across from her, buttoning up his suit jacket. "Who is this?" He asked. "I shouldn't have a meeting for at least another two hours."
She stood up and bowed to him. "I'm sorry sir, this is-"
I stuck out my hand. "Kim Taehyung." I interrupted.
"Park Baekhyun." He answered, shaking my hand, squeezing a little harder than need be, my guess was to show his dominance. Wrong move.
My grip tightened, almost enough for me to crush his fingers, meanwhile my face remained calm and emotionless. "Have we met somewhere before? You look awfully familiar." I said, studying his face, trying to put a finger on where I'd seen him before.
He let go of my hand and shook his head. "No. Not that I'm aware of, we may have crossed paths before, but nothing that I could think of." He answered.
"Tae, what brings you here?" Nari asked, pulling my attention from the man in front of me.
I set the bag I had brought with me on the desk in front of her. "You forgot your lunch, Jaesuk wanted me to bring it to you since you didn't eat breakfast this morning."
A hint of pink crept onto her face. "Oh. Thank you." She said, shyly.
"Secretary Choi. I will be going out for my lunch now. I'll be back in one hour." He said to her. She just gave him a quick nod and bow before he walked down the hallway toward the elevator.
Once he was far enough away from us to hear me, I turned to her. "I don't like him. He's lying about not knowing me either, I know I've seen him somewhere." I told her.
She raised a brow at me. "Why would he lie about something like that? What purpose does it serve?" She asked.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I'm not entirely sure. That's what I'm going to find out, something about him is just off. I don't trust a word that came out of his mouth and you shouldn't either."
